Da Nang Travel Guide
Why visit Da Nang
Da Nang is the gateway to Central Vietnam, where mountains, beaches, and World Heritage sites converge. From the iconic Golden Bridge held aloft by giant stone hands at Ba Na Hills to the pristine shores of My Khe Beach—ranked among the world's most beautiful—and the glowing lanterns of Hoi An's ancient town, a vibrant journey awaits. Just a 1-hour 50-minute flight from Bangkok, its affordability and the ease of Grab make it a favorite destination for travelers from Thailand.

Explore the city area by area

Downtown (Hàn River)
See products in this area
This is the heart of Da Nang, where the city's energy peaks day and night along the Han River. Spend your day bargaining at Han Market and relaxing in riverside cafes, then watch the city come alive after sunset with the Dragon Bridge fire show and the vibrant lights of Helio Night Market. With the airport just a 10-minute drive away, it's the most convenient area for your first and last days of the trip.
How to explore this area
The city center is divided by the Han River into the West Bank (Han Market, Bach Dang Street) and the East Bank (Asia Park, Helio). For a seamless itinerary, explore the West Bank on foot during the day—visiting Han Market, Da Nang Cathedral, and strolling along the Bach Dang riverside (all within a 30-minute walk)—then take a Grab across the river for dinner once the heat fades. Note that the Dragon Bridge fire and water show happens only once at 9 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; finish dinner by 8 PM to secure a spot by the river. Grab fares are very affordable, with most city trips costing between 20,000 and 40,000 VND.
