Chợ Lớn is Vietnam’s largest Chinatown, centered on District 5 and extending into Districts 6, 10, and 11. The Thien Hau Temple, dedicated to the sea goddess Mazu, is Chợ Lớn’s most popular attraction, known for its intricate ceramic figurines covering the roof and spiral incense sticks. The Nguyen An Guild Hall (Guan Di Temple), dedicated to Guan Yu, and the Ong Lang Guild Hall (Quan Am Temple), dedicated to Guanyin, are located just a few minutes’ walk away, making them ideal for a half-day temple tour. Luong Nhu Hoc Lantern Street, where lantern artisans gather, is most spectacular around the Mid-Autumn Festival and Tet (Lunar New Year), while the historic Hau Si Phuong Alley is a hidden gem favored by photographers.
