Downtown Beach (Trần Phú)

Nha Trang’s city center stretches along the Trần Phú Beach, a 6km-long shoreline lined with hotels, cafes, and bars, earning it the nickname 'Vietnam’s Riviera.' It serves as a convenient travel base where everything from morning water activities to nightlife is within walking distance.

The Trần Phú Promenade runs along the beach, offering jet skiing and parasailing during the day, while the night market and rooftop bars come alive after dark. Perched on a hill in the city center, the Nha Trang Cathedral (Cathedral of Christ the King) is a Gothic-style French landmark. On the western hill, the Long Sơn Pagoda features a 24-meter white seated Buddha overlooking the city.

Dining and shopping are also concentrated in the city. You can find souvenirs and street food at the Nha Trang Night Market and Đầm Market, and taste local specialties like Nem Nuong (grilled pork rolls) and Bun Cha Ca (fish cake noodle soup) at restaurants near the beach.

• Getting Around: The beachfront area is walkable. For other destinations, Grab (car or motorbike) is affordable and convenient.
• Temple Etiquette: Shoulders and knees must be covered when visiting the Cathedral and Long Sơn Pagoda. Be cautious of touts claiming to offer 'free guides' around the pagoda.
• Currency: Vietnamese Dong (VND) is used; 1,000 VND ≈ 1.4 THB. Card payments are common in the city, but cash is needed for markets and street stalls.
